For those who want to pay Rs. 35k for any laptop I suggest them to go with this lappy aka Acer Aspire 5742g. I am using it for past 9 months and I never had any issue with it.
Keep your lappy at safe place. Don’t be a kid anymore. This is the best which i got for 35k even better than Dell…

Good answer dude… This is the best laptop I have came around for 36.5k, I am using it for 1year till now no issues,I got i3, 4gb ram, 320gb HDD, 1gb nvidia, pre loaded windows 7 home basic, almost every game is played in this .. I prefer every one this is the cheapest one with high specifications

The ‘fn’ + ‘F3′ doesn’t toggle the wireless after I loaded win7 pro. Do you know why? The network controller drivers won’t install, could that be the problem? I have installed all the drivers available.
Check whether all the driver has been installed. Install Launch manager from your acer CD.
i have this laptop for the last 6 months. 5742-374G it is great.. i3, intel HD graphics, 4gb ram. and come on it is plastic around.. but if u drop nearly any laptop it will most probably break:p except the ones which were 10 years ago:p its 2011 nearly any gadget u buy will break when u drop if ur unlucky:p
ive been using this thign for gameing design msic, plus recording, and have nearly filled up the 640 hd, and bought an external and found out i have usb 3, etc this thing is okay, but because i can i am ordering two 4gb ram sticky thignies, just to see what i can get out of it! but so far with an i5 460m processor and already 4gb ram its runnin better than anything else ive seen includeing unmentionable over clocked systems ive tried, and i carried this thing around in a sainsburys bag for two months, drunk.

but i had 750gigs of HDD

It’s a really cool machine at all. I’m using the model with 3gb ram @ i3 processor along with 512mb Redeon 6370. But thr’s a little problem if any one has solution. Whn I play games on it, I have to plug in it to charge, or the game doesn’t work properly !

ive been using it for the past 12 months all you have to do is upgrade dislpay and chipset drivers from intel website(free),im able to run NFS-HPursuit-2011,Fifa 12,COD modern warfare 1,2 nd 3 perfectly no lag at all.this is an awsum machine. nd i can play NFS THE RUN just that u hav to download SDK package frm microsoft.

Hi…i use 5742G(for about 1.5 years)…but my graphic card is GT540M….
I can play all games, including max payne 3 and batman arkham city without any lag..
This is a fantastic laptop.
The problems i have experienced are
1.Sound from inbuilt speaker is not good.
2.It gets over heated and shutdown automatically.
Any one know that how can I access SD card from laptop Accer 5742 ?
I had taken photos from digital camera, which is stored in SD card.
Now I am installing SD card in card slot in PC 5742.
But can not accessing data from SD card. Or cant see SD card itself…
